About Us
Perth Phoenix Basketball Club has been the home of
basketball in Perth since 2002. The club competes in the Tayside & Fife
local league competitions at Senior Men and Senior Women level. These
teams also compete in all local cup and some national cup competitions.
The club train and play home games at Perth Academy (training
times)
The youth section of the club competes in the basketballScotland
National League at boys’ U-16 & U-18 and girls’ U-16. Each of these
teams is represented in National Cup competitions. In addition, the U-18
boys have also competed in the Tayside & Fife Senior men’s league and
cup competitions.
A group of U-14 boys and girls make up the Perth and Kinross Development
squad. They participate in Tayside & Fife U-14 central venue
competitions.
The main focus of the club is long term player development. This is
achieved not only through playing but also through encouraging all the
young players to complete table official, coaching and refereeing
courses. We believe these aspects increase their overall knowledge and
understanding of the game of basketball. As a result, a healthy number
of players, coaches and table officials have had the opportunity to
represent their country at various age groups and perform at the highest
level.
Phoenix is a family club and a unique atmosphere can be found at most
National League games which encourage the players and coaches to perform
to a high standard on a regular basis. During the short time the club
has been in operation it has seen success at different levels and in
different capacities. We would like to think that this is just reward
for the hard work of all involved within the club as well as those
supporting us from outwith.
